Laos, a predominantly Buddhist country, has been a new Socialist Republic since 1975. Laos, known as Lao People `s Democratic Republic, is a country of ancient culture, history, traditions and beautiful historic buildings. Its fertile fields and tropical forests cover an area bigger than Utah and Florida. But the sport has grown in popularity.Certainly, Olympic sport in Laos is a chaos. No stadiums, sports, swimming pool and sports projects.

In 1980 Thipsamay lost Chantaphone finished within 20 miles of Moscow in the Olympic Games. For the first time, Laos sent a team to compete in Olympic Games Summer Olympics. Unlike Alberto Juantorena (athletics: 400 and 800 mts), Maria Caridad Colon, Ruenes (track and field: javelin thow) and Roberto Urrutia (uprising weight), Chantaphone was not the USSR, Bulgaria and East Germany. The story is the same. Like all other socialist countries of Asia and Africa, sport is not Laosian had support from the USSR.

Between 1960 and 1991, there were over 20 socialist countries in the Third World: Afghanistan (1979-1989), Angola (1979-1991), Benin (1974-1991), Cambodia (1975-1989), Congo (1969-1989), Ethiopia (1974-1991), Ghana (1961-1966), Guinea (1960-1991), Guinea Bissau (1974-1991), Granada (1979-1983), Madagascar (1975-1991), Mali (1962-1991), Mozambique (1977-1989), Mongolia (1950-1990), Somalia (1970-1977), South Yemen (1970-1990) and Zimbabwe (1980-1989) .

Unlike Cuba, the sports system was a disaster in the Third World Socialist States, for example, 17 countries did not win an Olympic medal. Angola made its debut at the 1980 Olympics Games in the Soviet Union.Only North Korea qualified for FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, Guinea sent 3 athletes to the Olympics 1984 in Los Angeles.
Between 1962 and 1990, Cuba relies on the assistance of the Soviet world. Unlike Laos, Tanzania, Seychelles, the Soviet Union provided massive financial aid for human development and poverty programs. Much of the aid was used in the Cuban sport.Cuba received more money per capita to promote the sport of Brazil, Taiwan and South Korea.

Moscow is playing a key role in Cuba `s rapid development.Furthermore sports, the Kremlin and East Germany helped sports program for children in several cities and regions in the Island. However, The USSR had not a wave of favorable publicity for their support for sport in Cuba.

Thanks to the generosity of the Soviet Union, the dictatorships of Cuba was host to various sporting events as "Jose Antonio Huelga Tournament" () baseball a "Ramon Fonst Tournament" (fencing), a "Villa Clara Cupa" (swimming), a "Cupa Martyrs of Barbados" (fencing), a "Cerro Pelado Cupa" (wrestling), a "Raul Capablanca Tournament" (chess) a "Barrientos Tournament" (track and field), a "Giraldo Cordova Cardin tournament (Boxing), a" Moncada Cupa "(gymnastics), a" Jose Ramon Rodriguez Tournament "(judo), a "Manuel Suarez Tournament (weighlifting) and" Cuba Cupa "(diving). Over 50 countries participated, including Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, Jamaica, Colombia, German Democratic Republic, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, North Korea, Guyana, Spain and Nicaragua. For example, between 1961 and 1971, People `s Republic of Bulgaria sent 400 athletes to Havana.

Every year, delegations of Cuba was to Eastern Europe to compete in tournaments and international competitions, for example, a "Friendly Katowice (basketball / Poland), Â" Bratislava Cupa "(volleyball / Czechoslovakia), a" Tungsram Cupa " (Water Polo / Hungary), a "Chemical Cupa" (boxing / GDR), a "Bratislava Pravda" (track and field / Czechoslovakia), a " Olympic Daya "(track and field / RDA), a" Savaria Cupa "(volleyball / Hungary). In addition, Havana hosted various Olympic tournament: Pan American Games (1991), Central America and the Caribbean (1982) Women `s Basketball Preolympic and 26th Baseball World Cup (1984).

In the past, Cuba sent more than 50 coaches to study at the World Soviet Union. Alejandrina Herrera graduated from the Sports School Becquer Pino 1968.Julio Leipzig graduated from Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow.Jose Yaa ± ez was sent to the Academy of Medicine in Bulgaria.Like Loaquin Loo, Verania Pià ± and Juana was Bravet Quesis, Jose Godoy Sanchez studied physical education at the Moscow Institute of Central.Certainly, Cuba, Laos and perhaps not in Tanzania.
